Well poor Berkley is sick AGAIN! She now has croup. Apparently it is going around her daycare. Yesterday morning she woke up with a really bad croupy cough. I had to work so Mimi watched her for the day. Mimi said she acted fine all day but continued to have a really bad cough. When Chris got home she developed a fever of 102.8. He gave her Tylenol and put her to bed. When I got home from work she was asleep and felt much cooler. Her breathing was about the same as it had been all day. At 430am she woke up crying...it was one of the most pitiful cries i've heard. she was so hoarse and could hardly get any noise out. She was barking like a seal and very stridorous with each breath in and out. She was limp in my arms and would not even look at me. she scarred me to death...so we shut the door to the bathroom and turned the shower as hot as it would go and had a steam room experience for about 20 min. ;) at this point her temp was only 99.4 but she felt horrible so i gave her some ibuprofen... then by 7am she was turned around and was acting much more like herself.
i took her to Dr. Holladay this morning and he said she had a bad case of croup! he gave her a shot of decadron (a steriod) and sent her home with some oral steroids. he said to just watch her and expect for it to possibly return tonight. once again please say an extra little prayer for miss b! :) thanks!
