Berkely - Another Ear Infection

So Berkley has been a little more fussy lately and has had a really bad cough for about 3 weeks now...it seemed to be getting better but today her left ear started draining.  I took her to see Dr. Holliday and he said she has a pretty bad left ear infection.  The left ear tube is still in place but the right tube has fallen out...the right ear was not a full blown infection but did have fluid behind it.  Dr. H started her on omnicef.  Hopefully it will kick in soon and she will be feeling better in no time.

Our dear friend Barb invited us to join her and her daughter Libby to go see the Singing Bears in downtown Charlotte.  It was so much fun!  We also ran into our friends Jamie and her kids Maddie and Gavin.  Maddie is in Caden's class at school and Gavin is in Berkley's class.

New Job!!

Yay!  Well I can finally announce I have a new JOB!! :)

It has been a working progress.  I interviewed for this job back in August...and it wasn't official until Jan 1st!  I am now working at South Park Surgery Center in the PACU/Pre-op area.  I work with the Charlotte Eye Ear Nose Throat physicians.  Everything is going great so far!  I will not have to work weekends, holidays and late nights anymore!! I couldn't be more thankful for that.  It has been a long almost 8 years working when everyone else is either off or in bed...

Thanks to the good Lord for providing this opportunity for me.  

Ballerina Caden

Caden is out of Preschool this week and next so we signed her up for Ballet Camp at the YMCA.  She went Mon, Tues and Wed this week and really enjoyed it.  They were able to dress up any way they wanted.  The first day she wore a tutu, tights and leotard, the next day she wore a white top, tutu, leg warmers and today she wore her Ariel outfit.  She looked so cute each day...I'm loving reminiscing back to my dance days... :)

Berkley - 18 month check-up

Dr. Holladay was very pleased with Berkley's development today.  He says she is right on track where she should be.  :)  As far as growth...she has really slowed down.  Here are her stats:

- 21 lbs 4 oz (16th percentile)
- 31 1/2 inches (46th percentile)

He wants to see her again in 3 months to see how her weight is.  He is not overly concerned right now... believing she is just going through a picky eating stage.  She also has SIX teeth coming in...a very possible explanation for the not eating... ;)

Berkley - 18 months old! :)

Berkley is now 1 1/2 years old!!  It has passed by so quickly. She is one of the sweetest little girls I have ever meet.  She has grown up so much in the past few months.  She is feeling good these days...we are so very thankful for that.  No runny nose or cold for almost 1 month straight now!!!!

Here are a few things Berkley is up to now:

• Sleeping through the night!!  (praise God)  this just started about 2 weeks ago...
• Goes to bed around 7:30 and sleeps until 6:45-7:15... :)
• Talking so much more within the past several weeks.  Now saying: cheese, cracker (her 2 favorite things), moma, dada, popa, mimi (this is what she calls her duckie, paci and grandmother... ;)) pawpaw, sissy, NO, ank-u (thank-you), etc...she has a different accent and it is hard to understand her very often.
• Loves to dance and listen to music
• Loves her baby dolls
• Loves balls...kicking them, throwing them
• Loves to snuggle and give kisses!  (I LOVE this too!!)
• Loves her sister so much (she truly misses her so much when she is not around...she walks around saying "sissy"?)
• She goes through stages where she is a Mommy's girl and Daddy's girl.
• She is very bashful around strangers...in a sweet way ;)
• Has a temper...you don't see it very often but watch-out when it comes!!
• She is still not eating...we went to the doctor last week because she has not been eating for over 1 month...I mean Nothing!  she will eat A bite of cheese, fruit, yogurt, peanut butter...and that is it.  She had lost 4 oz since her last appointment...still weighs 21 lbs (what she weighed at 12 months).  So the doctor sent us to get a xray and some blood work drawn.  Thank God they were all within normal limits.  We have her 18 month check-up tomorrow so he said we would re-evaluate then and see what steps we need to take next.

There is so much more I could write...I just hope Berkley realizes how much I love her.  She melted my heart the day she was born and it continues each and every day.  I am so very blessed to be her Mom.  Thank you Lord!

Miller Family Christmas
